The Carpenter Found by the Ritz
More than 15 years ago, I built a website for a carpenter in Mugello, Tuscany.
His workshop was located along a small country lane.
No special effects.
No videos.
No animations.
Just a website designed to be found by the right people.
One day, he received an enquiry from the Ritz Paris.
In an interview with the Italian newspaper La Nazione, Dario Biagioni said:
“The fact that the Paris hotel found me - when my workshop is in a small country lane that even GPS cannot find - is a source of great satisfaction for me.
I was not the one who went looking for them - the Ritz, I mean. There is not even a sign outside my workshop.
They saw the website, looked at the way I work and contacted me.”
And do you know something?
Although falegnameriafirenze.it is not mobile-friendly and has been online for more than 15 years, it still appears on the first page for the search terms that mattered to the client.
Why has the website never been converted into a mobile-friendly one?
Because the client likes it exactly as it is and is more than satisfied with the work it continues to bring him.
He pays no recurring fees to maintain its search position.
He paid for the website when we built it.
Full stop.
This has always been the way we work.
